God Goes with Me

Lesson Topic God Goes with Me

Thats Good to Know Ill go with Gods saving message.

Bible Lesson Jesus sends His disciples out to the towns and villages to share the good news and do healing miracles. Matthew 10:1-16

Spoken Word Anyone who welcomes you welcomes me [Jesus]. And anyone who welcomes me also welcomes the one who sent me.
-Matthew 10:40

Parent Corner Every child has been called to work for the Lord, regardless of his or her age or size. Whatever our age or size, if we want to be used by God, we need to have our sins washed away by Jesus death for us on the cross and we need to be renewed and empowered by the Holy Spirit. Once the Holy Spirit dwells in us, we then know that we have His authority to represent Him and to serve Him.

God wants to bring people to saving faith in Jesus Christ- and we can have a part in that! Our job is not to bring people to salvation- thats the Holy Spirits job. Rather, our job is to bring people into contact with Jesus by letting Jesus live through our words and deeds. God needs thousands and thousands of Christians who are willing to say, Ill go with Gods saving message.

When Jesus first called His disciples, they spent time with Him. Jesus taught them and performed miracles. Then Jesus sent the disciples out to do the very same thing He had done-teach and heal. When the disciples returned they had experienced what Jesus had chosen for them to do. And just as Jesus had said, the disciples encountered people who accepted Jesus message and those who did not.

I’ll Worship God

Lesson Topic — I’ll Worship God

That’s Good to Know — I join all creation in praising God.

Bible Lesson — Jesus overturns the moneychanger’s tables, heals the lame and challenges the priests to let the children praise and worship Him.
– Matthew 21:12-16

Spoken Word — “Let all things praise the name of the LORD, because they were created at his command.” — Psalm 148:5

Parent Corner — Since all humankind is created in the image of God, there is an innate longing to worship. However, who or what is worshiped is a reflection upon our fallen world. Some people do worship God, but many others choose to worship people, causes, or things.

Psalm 149 tells the people of God to praise Him. Psalm 150 commands God’s people to praise Him with music and declares, “Let every living creature praise the LORD.” The Bible makes it very clear that God wants all of us to praise and worship Him.

There are two things we can do to help our children obey the command to praise and worship God. The first is for us to actively model a life and attitude of praise to God. Be willing to grow in worshipping Him. Our kids learn more from our actions than our words. The second is to teach our children to make praising and worshiping God a part of daily life. If we invest our time to help them understand and participate in praise and worship while they are young, they have better chance of becoming adults with a life-style that naturally includes worshiping God daily.

God’s Voice

Lesson Topic God’s Voice

That’s Good to Know I obey God when I listen to His voice.

Bible Lesson – Samuel hears God’s voice and agrees to do what He says. – 1 Samuel 1:24-28; 2:18-26, 3:1-21

Spoken Word “Come and set up your kingdom, so that everyone on earth will obey you, as you are obeyed in heaven.” – Matthew 6:10

Parent Corner

Listening is not something that we do naturally.  Think of the patience it requires to listen to your child, or even your spouse.  Is it any wonder that we are often uncomfortable when it comes to listening to God?  If we are talking we can’t be listening and–if we are honest with ourselves– we would rather talk than listen.

Now think about your prayer life.  Is it easy for you to pray, but hard for you listen to God?  We can receive encouragement from the prophet Samuel.  Prophets were known for proclaiming God’s message– often an unpopular one– to God’s people and to the nations.  But before Samuel became a mighty prophet, he was a boy who heard God’s voice calling to him at night.  Samuel’s simple response, “Speak, Lord, for your servant is listening,” is often what we need to say.

If we need hear this simple message as adults, think how much more our children need to be taught how to listen to God.  Just as Samuel was obedient when he heard God’s voice, our children can also learn to listen to and obey God’s voice.  Use this lesson to help your kids see how hearing God’s voice is an important part of prayerful obedience.
